CPU question!

I'm needing some help as I can't get my head around this!

I have an AM2 4200+ with an ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe, the question is... is it worth me changing this to a E6600 with Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4 or DS3? Will I benefit much from this change as it will cost me more cash as the E6600 is fairly expensive. I'm using this PC for games and surfing the net :)

I'd say if you want to make a change then get a E6400 and a ABIT/ASUS 650i Motherboard. I moved from AMD and have noticed a huge difference in encoding, gaming etc...

second that, how mate - do you really need to upgrade. is there anything your computer dosent do that you would like it to? otherwise just hold onto the cash for whatever is coming over the horizon in the next few months i would say.

I know what you mean. But the benchmarks are so much better with that chip and thats before its even over clocked. Supreme Commander and im sure many other games will be using CPU power most of all and I feel like I have a slow PC and could do better.
