ok was looking at cpu's on overclockers and spoted something that made me wonder.

how is this older cpu more expensive than >

The older 1066mhz chips were excluded from the last round of Intel price cuts (other than the Q6600 ofcourse). You'll find that the E6600 is also a lot more expensive than its E6550 replacement.
