Hi im wanting to buy a rig to last me a fair length of time for gaming, maybe with a few upgrades in the future.

Im going with 775 i think, but im worried it will be completely outdated very soon by i5 and i7 and stuff.

Is the 775 still a good CPU? I dont want to buy old technology, but I dont have that much money.
 
Thanks for all your opinions, i was thinking of going for the e8400 and overclocking. I could upgrade to a quad later on. What do you think?
