Could you recommend a good Intel CPU please for my Asus p5nd2-sli i currently have a Pentium D 840 3.2Ghz but have been told that its not a great chip for gaming??? Thank You
 
If it plays everything you want then it's good chip. Chances are a new Intel chip will require a new mobo as well. But Any of the Intel Core2Duo chips are good. Check the Asus site to see if they are compatible with your board.
 
The PD 840 is a slow chip but if you're happy with its performance for what you need then I'd stick with it

Depending on board support, I'd either upgrade to a PD 900 series or a Core 2
