CPU recommendations to improve over current

I currently have an AMD Athlon X3 unlocked to a B25 quad core.

I'm looking to update my system to run both OSX and Windows 8 and think the time is right for a new CPU.

I have about £250 to spend on CPU, mobo and a new psu. I'll be keeping my 7850 and 12gb of corsair ram.

Main uses will be photoshop, video editing and content creation as well as the basic processes like web browsing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is the Motherboard currently an AM3 socket? If it is you could just drop in an AMD 8320, Only if the motherboard supports piledriver that is.

The FX-8 is a good chip for Photoshop and content creation.
