On start up, my cpu runs @ 100%. i have run avg anti virus, spybot, adaware and defragged. Looking through task manager to see the worst culprits shows:-svchost-system:wuauclt-system:wuauclt-(my user name). I am also being continually told to download the latest updates and regardless whether i do this or not, i still get the same message. Should i shut down and click "turn off and install updates", updates are installed but i still get asked the next time i start the pc.
I have an asus a8n sli deluxe mobo, amd 3700+, xfx 7800 gt, xp service pack 2, creative xfi sound card and a samsung spinpoint hd
After starting up the pc, checked emails and having written this, the usage has dropped to almost nil, but somedays this takes longer. any (simple) suggestions for a nubbin would be appreciated
