CPU runs hot when pushed!

My p4 would drop 20 degrees in less than two minutes after heavy usage.

The problem is when Im running a chess engine that pushes the CPU hard, the PC shuts down sometimes and then reboots itself.

We aren't worried about the temp sensor right now, this is the problem he wants fixed. Did moving your pc and it running at cooler temps help this problem?
