CPU selection ... guidance appreciated =)

Hi everyone,

I want a CPU for my new build;

MSI P35 Diamond
2GB 1333mhz DDR3
Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme/OCZ Freeze paste
OCZ 600W PSU
Thermaltake Kandalf.

I use my pc mainly for games, sometimes video conversion and have no problems overclocking a cpu, thus the 120 extreme.

I want to try and keep a lowish budget so atm i'm considering an E8400 from a competitor? I'm only concerned that a Q6600 would be more futureproof for the same price ...

Hmmmmm where to start?

Have you bought the motherboard and DDR3 yet?

Mobo was bought from B Grade for 12p and RAM off a certain auction site for £40 yes

Would have gone for 2 at that price, even being an MSI
