CPU Shows 4.00ghz in bios but not in windows

as sig....shows 4.00ghz in bios and boot screen but when in windows its only showing the 3.40ghz....has anyone got an idea what im doing wrong thanks.
 
Nothing, use cpu-z and load the cpu. It'll show 4Ghz or whatever you overclocked to. I think i set something like max cpuid in the bios once to get it to show properly but generally don't bother anymore. Disabling speedstep etc.. might work but whats the point lol.
