Hi fellas.
I have CPU Socket pin damage to my Asus P6X58D Premium motherboard.
Is there anyway I can get the CPU replaced through repair?
I am the second user so do not know when it was originally bought etc.
Thank's

How many and how bad are is the pin damage.

A steady hand and a good eye can sort. Or take to your local jeweller that does repairs. They will charge you about £6 -10 to correct.

Thank's fellas will look into both options.
Bought it a couple of weeks ago from another forum, when the Technician opened it up with all the other components I bought over the weeks to build the machine this is what he found.
Been onto the guy "well established seller" Guess what? same old same old,
It was fine when I sent it to you, used it the very day i sent it out !!!!
I am in touch with Mods but I am not holding my breath.
62 years old unemployed ...Never thought I'd get stuffed..:o
Full technicians report sent to him and the Mods too..
Ah well! back to the drawing board.
Again thank's for the replies

Is there supposed to be a picture or something?

Was the board sent with the protective cover over the CPU socket?

How was it packaged?

Sorry Surveyor...When I said this is it I meant this is the resulting findings of the Techy
The board was sent without the Socket cap
Fully packaged in the original box with cardbord separator and HD plastic internal lid with ASUS logo embossed

The word Thug under my username should be changed to MUG

ps
I could have posted the Techs conclusion but don't want to do that on open forum until I hear from the Mod about what is happening if anything.

If it was sent without the protector then any pressure in that area of the packaging could have damaged the pins.

I know that when motherboards are returned for whatever reason the retailers/manufacturers are quite insistant that the protector is put on.
