I've had my Q6600 for a year now and it's been happily chugging along at 3GHz (9*333) since I had it. I never clocked it further at the time because I was too lazy tbh
Anyway, I was bored today and since I have PC6400 RAM I thought I'd make good use of that and clock the processor to 3.2GHz (8*400).
CPU-Z and Coretemp both report it as running at 3.2GHz fine, although windows, 3DMark06 and the script I use with mIRC report it as running at 3.6GHz
Also, when I originally O/C'd the CPU from 2.4GHz to 3GHz I gained nearly 2000 extra points in 3DMark06. Since overclocking the extra 200MHz today, I only gained an extra 200 points
I was hoping a overclocking guru here could clear up this strange behaviour.
My m/b is an Asus P5K Premium, GFX card is a 8800GTS 512 (stock).
