CPU Speed in CPU-Z

On setting my FSB to 335MHz (x 9 = 3,023MHz effective), CPU-Z keeps jumping around with a mulitplier of 6 then 9 then 6 and so on.. yet the speed in coretemp remains static at 3GHz?

edit - Everest is showing as 3Ghz

Anyone have any idea what's going on?

ok thanks. You're right.. CPU-Z is showing the correct speed atm.

I've just completed 3 hours of orthas testing using Gromacs core on all four cores with no errors. Thought I'd try the belnd CPU and RAm test. One instance is still running after about an hour.. the other fails after less than 2 minutes ??

any reason why one would fail and not the other?

Ok, I'll give that a go.

It's quite strange because the blend test works fine if running on cores 1,2 and 3 or 1,2 and 4 but fail when running on all cores..

So I tested 3 and 4 without 1 and 2 and that worked fine too.

but i will change the vdim and nb later :)

I'm back on to this and It's still throwing an error during Blend test ( first few seconds)

It only seems to be when running blend on all four cores at the same time. They are fine when run in pairs on their own.

I can ran Gromac test on all four cores at the same time.. This ran for 4 hours with no error.

FSB = 355MHz
vCore = 1.4v
vDimm = 2.1v

Passes CPC and 3Dmark06 benchmarks.

I haven't tried the NB as it just says Auto so no idea what this should be set to.

It's the Asus P5KC.

The poroblem for me is that it doesn't let me set the voltages in increments like you suggest. I have to set the amount. Since the current value shows as "AUTO", I have no idea what the current value is to go by.

If the system is stable I shouldnt worry about the blend test

In regards to the NB if you are running 4 sticks of memory set it to 1.45v if it still fails blend set it to 1.55v

Make sure you RAM is set to the correct voltage as set by the Manufacture

as per previous post, I've no idea what the stock NB voltage should be as a starting point but I'll try a few settings, see how things go.
