hello people

i have a laptop

i5 450m 2.4ghz (2.6ghz turbo freq) 4gb ddr3 1066mhz 250 gb hdd

and a pc

phenom x2 555 be oc'd to 3.6 ghz and unlocked to 3 cores 4gb ddr3 1600mhz 1tb hdd ati 5770


i have a 1080p movie and using microsoft expression encoder the laptop can convert it to 720p wmv in 6 hours and the pc will take 10 hours to do the same movie

is this right? i thought the pc would have done it a bit quicker but 4 hrs slower

The i5 450m is a dual core with hyperthreading, so it's able to run four threads. In this sort of situation, 4 threads vs 3 threads, the 450m beats the unlocked 555 as it's able to handle more threads.
