CPU Suggestion

Hey everyone. Thanks for the advice on the CPU from before, but I have a new question. My IP35-DR has a problem with E0 stepping CPU's so im going to have to get something which does not currently use that stepping. I will have 130 exactly in 1 weeks time to buy a new/used CPU. What would be the best CPU I could get for this kind of money. Looking at Quad Core but would consider a Dual if it was good enough.

depends for what you wanna use it if for games is much bwter take dual core with higher clock

Im looking at the Q8400 but I need to confirm it works with my motherboard, damn Abit went bust so I wont get no words from them so im wery on which stepping the CPU is that I buy, I might contact OCuk today and try and find out what stepping the Q8400 is..

Are you sure the problem is with the stepping? I thought it might have a problem with 45nm chips and at most will need a BIOS update, hard since they've gone bust .

You can get a Q9550 C1 stepping for less than 130 on MM.

I would get a new motherboard tbh.
