cpu temp Freezer 7 pro

Check the AC7 mounting, and if necessary remount the cooler.

Out of interest Is your system over clocked and which chip dual/ Quad. Is the temp registered 63c using core temp?

I'd say no mate.

I've got a E6600 @ 3.2 (same cooler) and at idle its about 30c, under load its never gone past 60c as i've got the mobo to set an alarm off if it does.

I'm not sure what the highest it goes too, but i've only ever seen core temp register around 45c after playing COD4 before.

Edit: Just checked and its idleing @ 28 both cores.

The chances are that the Cooler is seated just fine.

Whether it gets your CPU at 30c or 60c will also be down to the case cooling not just the CPU cooler.

You can have the best CPU cooler on the planet, but if you case is crappy, then your CPU will just get hot all *** time.

However, if your case has good cooling then you can also get away with murder.

So, make sure that the case has good air flow though it.

Just seemed high temp for me for such a good cooler

I personally didn't have much luck with the Freezer 7 Pro either, I was expecting miracles from this £15 heatsinkfan but it didn't deliver

In all fairness I could have got a bad sample 'or' I may not have fitted it incorrectly? those INTEL push pins can be really confusing the first time round :o

There is a good video showing how to install the push pin clips on YouTube here

Edit: I have moved on to a better cooler since then and I gave the freezer 7 pro to my hamster to nibble on :D

to think you either spent the time to look for that picture, or to make it, thats what i call commitment..

anyways yeh that does sound strange, i've got that cooler, on a 3.4ghz prescott, with the stock cooler it was like a furnace, and could reach 80C on load, now with a gentle 0.44ghz (wont go any higher without increased voltage and mobo wont do that) overclock it idles at 37C and reaches abotu 50ish tops on full load.. so as said it's either your case or the seating, considering the paste is always mounted perfectly..

have 1 on an e6600 @3.4ghz and my idle temps are 28'c, under load it hits the mid 50's, not to bad for such a cheap cooler.

Mine used to go to 65c load and 45 idle with a freezer pro 7 (e2160@3ghz) then i removed the stock thermal grease and applied some AS5 and its as low as 27c idle and around 55c full load now.

With my E4300 @ 3ghz and a high ambient temperatue (computer case is next to a radiator at the moment until I move my desk about - case fans also set to low) and after quite a few hours of thundering about crysis my cpu temp was sat at 55-57 (core 0 / 1)

This was measured by core temp.

For the price it isn't a bad cooler at all it just isn't as good as coolers which cost virtualy three times as much (which quite frankly is understandable).
