Hello.

I have recently downloaded core temp to check the temperature of my CPU as I have recently gone from a Noctua NH D-14 to a Corsair H60.

It keeps hovering between 9 degrees c and 18 degrres c

is this normal?

I know the H60 is a good cooler but didn't think it was that good? lol

it's normal,When the cpu gets to about 30c-45c or put under load the temps start to become reliable. the same low temps can be seen in amd overdrive.

As above just use Hwmonitor and work out your tmpin relative to your cpu temp and monitor your package temps too.

Then you'll see you wasted money on that h60 !! :)

Yeah my HW monitor updated recently now it says my CPU is 9 degrees, must be the 9 Degrees bug or summat :)

Afterburner is telling me its 21 degrees idle about 1 degree below my GPU temp, so ide say i trust that reading a little more.

Yes i would think the Noctua is the better cooler

Yeah it is but I had a small form factor machine and it was so annoying swapping parts/cable management. Should be ok as I don't overclock and rarely game on the PC. Need to make the most out of paying £400 for the xbox one (near release date when I got it)

What do you use your rig for? if not clocking or gaming the only other reason to have an 8 core is a cheap space heater :D.

no! on a serious note, AMD packaged some 8 cores with a single rad all in one cooler as a gimmick on launch so if your not clocking your fine, but i would think there will be throttling of the CPU under load

Well when I bought it I used to game and live stream on the PC. Now I use it mainly for streaming.

At the end of the day the size of the noctua was annoying me whenever I wanted to swap a part over hence why I took it out lol.
