CPU Temp Problem

I have installed an Artic cooling freezer 7 pro and now the temperatures in AMD overdrive are wrong. When i use easytune 6 the temperature reading is correct (when compared with the BIOS). The correct CPU temperature is displayed as TMPIN1. I am worried that the if i try and overclock the cpu the temperature will be incorrect on AMD overdrive and may over heat my CPU. I have the same problem with CPUID HWmoniter as it displys the same temperature as the as AMD Overdrive.

Thanks

More info

On Coretemp the readings are

CPU #0: 16C

Low: 15C

High 19C

Easytune: 28C (correct)

My CPU is the AMD Thuban 1090T so this is not right.

The temperatures seem to scale and when the cpu is under high load there is a difference of 10C.

I'm wondering if the monitors have released versions for the 6 core Thuban. Just looking at CoreTemp, it's not included in the CPU list.

What does CoreTemp show when under load?

What CPU are you using, if its an AMD phenom 2 for example, the core temp is always wrong, that isnt a sensor its just a guesstimate, and for some strange reason AMD Overdrive shows this as the temp. But it is there in the board status tab if i recall right, as a CPU Temp, always go off the CPU temp (or sounds like TMPIN 1 in your case) not the core temp to get the right temperature on these CPU's.

Dave.

Sorry, read further you said you had a 1090T , mine does the exact same thing and is normal for these chips, I use the Beta of everest to keep track of my CPU temps when stress testing etc. I use the Beta as the latest release version has my sensors messed up on the crosshair iv, the beta put this right. But may not be the case for you, if you have a different board. But think on my gigabyte board I had, it read the sensors right.

Thanks

Thanks to you all for helping.
I guess i will use easytune from now on.
The correct temp is displayed as CPU in everest then the individual cores are the incorrect temps. Thanks for the help again.
