hi all,

I recently inspalled a new mobo GA-M55Plus-S3G with a AMD 64 x2 4200+, anyway everything is fine but I have had to swap from Motherboard Monitor 5 as it is no longer supported. I have installed speed fan 4.31 to monitor my cpu temp but here is the problem when I compare the readings from speed fan against the readings from the gigabyte diagnostic system (Easy Tunes 5) there is a huge differance. on boot up bot ET5 and the Bios temps are around 15 - 20 degrees below the system temp. Under load the things vary even more. Gigabyte support say ET5 is correct event when I gave them some screen shots

Start up
underload

I presumed the temp 2 in speed fan was my cpu temp but gigabyte support said that temp 3 was the correct reading. I have updated both my bios and ET5 to ensure everything is as upto date as I can make it.

which temp should I go for and is there any other utillity I should use to monitor my system temp ?

Hi there,

I would suggest you use coretemp program to monitor the temperature of the cpu as this is far more accurate as it reads directly from the cpu core.Do a google search for it.
