Ive just ran everest and the cpu temp is reading the same as in the bios 35c. so why are both cores reading 45c, surly the 35c should be 45c.. heres what I mean.........

Boath cores read the same in coretemp too, 45c at idel. Also how does my other temps and volts look??

I think the CPU temp is read around the heat spreader, were the CPU temps are the actual core temps which in theory will be higher.

everything else looks fine.

Yup CPU temp is read from the top of the IHS, where as core temps are reading from the cores of the CPU.. you will normaly find that there is some difference between the two between 5 - 10c depending on how good your cooling is and how much load is going through the CPU

Well at load the cores are in the 50s, if room temp was 30c or hotter they would be in the 60s, but the hottest ive seen them is 58c. Then they return to idel within about 2secs of the load being taken off the cores.

Also yes 1 core gets a good 5 -8c hotter then the other core at load.

either:

a) your heatsink isnt mount correctly
b) thermal paste hasnt spread correctly
c) you have an unever base on the heatsink or IHS of the CPU (you can sort this by lapping althought would void warrenty on the CPU)
d) you could be really unlucky and that core just has worse contact with the IHS
