CPU temp

Hi guys,

Just got a new pc about 2 days ago with a 5600x AMD cpu. Just wondering what temp would be classed as too high nowadays. I've only got the stock cooler (big mistake I know) and temp is hitting 75 whilst playing WoW. It did go up to 80 something yesterday, but has not gone past 77 today.

Is this too high? Or not really THAT bad? I am going to get a new cooler at some point, but it's probably going to be a month or 2 down the line if that sounds ok.

Whay case do you have and fans ?

Can you ramp up the cpu fan to help.

As rule bundled stock coolers are sized for playing MS Word and any actually heavier loads will make temps and noise shoot up.

£21 Arctic Freezer 34 would be excellent cooler for mainstream CPUs.

Its bit of a warm spell we having, though your temps can be lowered a lot with an aftermarket cooler.It depends if you really want your CPU to hit its peak boost speeds and not thermal throttle.
