CPU temperature problems

Hi

I have a dfi infinity sli 939 with an opteron 146, and an arcitc cooling freezer pro 64

i have 2 problems, the first is that in smart guardian, speedfan etc my cpu temperature jumps every 2nd, from things like 15 21 10 etc, every second, why, and how can i get my real temp, in the bios it always seems rather low, at 28C

The 2nd may be connected, when i installed my cooler, it didn’t seem to cover the cpu completely

That is normal with Arctic Freezer 64 pro, mine leaves about 3mm to the right of the CPU too, but it shouldn't affect the performance because the centre area where the core is is covered.

Try using Core Temp, it is the most accurate temp monitor atm.
