hi

im having a issue with my temps while running prime 95.

the temp of the CPU will peak at around 60-65 degrees C for about 15 minutes. after that it shoots up quite quickly to 90+ degrees C on all 4 cores

just wondering what would be the cause of the sudden rise after 15 mins.

the temp always shoots after the same amount of time.

seems a bit strange to me.

any advice??

thanks x

Prime uses a variety of calculation routines (iterations) some of which are more intensive than others, this is why a lot of folks insist that you are not prime stable unless you have completed 12 hours of stability testing as this would mean you have managed to run the complete set. Prime has fallen out of favour as a stability test over the past few years, as Amos91 says Realbench is a more widely used alternative.
