Hi Guys

Can you give me some peace of mind, just received the following from overclockers, "Titan Spectra" Intel Core i7 Haswell-E Overclocked Gaming PC, bought as shown.

After running a few games mainly world of warships and armoured warfare i checked the temp of the cpu using the installed program coretemp and hwmonitor, its sayin that 3 of the 6 cores are hitting 103 whuile the other 3 are topping out at 80s and low 90s is this normal?

Video card is doing fine at 66 max.

on my older pc i could turn up the fans in the case using switches on the back but sont seem to have that option on this one,

no, thats far too hot if we are talking celcius. The CPU has a tdp of 105c so being 2 degrees from overheating isnt very good. It should be far cooler if it is on stock settings, about half that while gaming on stock settings.

Mine is just over half that on gaming and overclocked from 3.7-4.5ghz.

If you look inside the case are the fans running on the cpu cooler itself? It sounds like either the cpu is overclocked in the bios or the cpu cooler/thermal paste is not fitted correctly. Changing the thermal paste and re-fitting the cooler is a 2 minute job aslong as it doesnt void your warranty.

either go into the bios and look at the stated target turbo boost speed or download and open CPU-Z which will report the cpu speed. On stock settings it should read 3.7ghz.

Hi, both the fans are working on the cpu,

ran cpu-z under specification on the cpu tab it says interl core i7-5820k cpu @ 3.30ghz

not sure if im reading this right, will try to get into the bios seem to keep missing it

Hi again ok ive ran the prime95 stress test to check the temps and im gettin the same temps 102 , 103 but when i pressed on the cooler the temps dropped dramatically down the the low 80's

Im guessing that the cooler block might not be seated properly?

Is this something i can fix or should it be left to overclockers as a rma?

sorry for all the questions

You shouldn't have to mess with a brand new system. Contact OCUK support and I'm sure they'll sort you out.

Have you got the latest version of Core Temp?
Just installed Core Temp 1.0 RC7 beta

Before

During a quick benchmark

Both times the temps were pretty much in line with what MSI Command Center was saying.
I have a Corsair H110 AIO on my CPU.

Just an update, spoke to overclockers last weekend who kindly sent out a new cooler, finally had time to fit this today, and lo an behold highest temps im seeing now is 72. Idling its between 30 - 40 which is much better than what i had before. :D

I would make sure that your CPU is prime stable over night before declaring success. If it's not stable, I would speak to OcUK as strictly speaking the badly fitting cooler caused the damage.
