cpu temps. confused again

Hi again..

as in my other thread i want to overclock my fx 6100 however i was checking my temps, i had only been watching a youtube video and had browser in background using my usual hwinfo however when i loaded amd overdrive i was at least 20c higher which do i trust???

Try Real temp or Core temp to verify readings.

Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong, but on that AMD OverDrive it says Thermal Margin, which tells me, how much heat you have left before you're pushing on the thermal limits of the chip.

So it's not saying that you are AT 55c, but that you are 55c below the thermal limit.

Think this is correct, even though it is an odd system to use

Note it down and then run something intensive like a game and if the number is lower then you have nothing to worry about

Also, 32+55=87 which sounds like the thermal limit for a cpu?

Prime95 is my choice for checking overclocks on load.

Ignore all the temp apps. Install HWMON and keep an eye on the CPU TIN temps.

Ignore Prime95 too, just run Asus Realbench.
