Hey i have the spec as in siggy. (edit: cpu is the 90W G0stepping one)

This is a fairly new build so still ironing out a few things also this is my first build.... so learning loads of stuff

Anyways i done a bit of research on cpu temps i get the feeling i am getting a tad high temps. I have just resit my heatsink (one that comes with it:rolleyes:) with some antec silver5. I'm sure i did it ok.
I'm using a software that came with the mobo ASUS probe which monitors the temps of the kit. its averageing about 87-90c now this seems very high. Im not too sure if this is temp of all cores or each core... if its each OMG

Anyways is there a better software to maybe check this ?
What average temps should i expect, ive read about 40-50.

Btw i did the line method of applying the grease as artic silver suggest.

mmm il have a go at using that core temp... at work atm but will be going home shortly.
Woots for half days.
If i am still getting high temps think i should have a go at resitting the Heat sink again ?

ok got home tested on core temp was getting 85-90c
So i have taken the cpu out and re-did the thermal paste im now getting around 60-65c is that ok or think i should have another go at the thermal paste jobby again :P
60-65 sounds ok to me but could be wrong - thats also on core temp

Edit - To post above, aye i think i shall have to invest in a better heatsink but that might need to wait till next pay day now :p

its underload
aye using stock cooler so not the greatest thing in the world. only system cooling i got are the ones that come with the antec case so the big 200mm fan up top one smaller fan at the rear and 2 at the front.
Cables are fairly orgainsed, well enough to have a good airflow.
I think the stock heatsink might be my probs with the slightly high temps

Ok right i had another play decided that the temps was too high.

Finally sorted got my temps underload at 50c.
idle around 40c

I'm hoping that is good :D

hehe this was my first build so bound to have mistakes my prob i think was heat sink wasnt sitted tightly to the mobo

aye that core temp is a cracking piece of software :D
ye main prob i had when applying the heatsink was i didnt wanna apply to much pressure felt like the board was gunna snap :p
But now its working and i am bloody happy seeing them temps not getting near 52c is lovely :D highest ive seen my cpu get to is 51c after it was on for a good couple of hours underload.
Hoping when i get the cashola to upgrade the heatsink to a decent one rather than stock the temps will lower a bit more :)
