Hi Guys

I have a i7 7700k which is cooled with a water loop powered by a small magicool DCP450. It is not overclocked but I would like to know if my temps are ok. In idle, like right now with just chrome open my CPU temps are at 32c, the highest I have seen my temps are today while playing in VR and it reached 72c. Is this temp ok or is it a bit too hot. Would have liked it a bit lower. Not sure if I am worry about nothing or not.

70c isn't great but well within the chips limits.
A delid would probably help, if you plan on overclocking.

Also is the voltage set to auto? Maybe pumping too much through the chip for stock settings.
Maybe try setting it manually & see if that's helps.

Seems a bit high tbh as I'm running my loop with the same pump and 360+120 radiators and my overclocked 6700K 1.4V is reaching 70C when stress testing and about 50-60 when gaming and thats sharing the loop with overclocked 980ti HOF that's well over 300W.

They are hot chips, you do need good cooling to keep its temps down but 72c is ok, it is high but its not going to do it any harm, my only concerns is gaming inst a stressful thing for the CPU to do, it would get much hotter rendering or encoding something.

72 is tptally fine.

Do check sa and io voktages though. These will have changed when you set xmp and maybe too high.

3200mhz mems io should be around 1.05 sa aroind 1.1v

Hi Thanks for the replies. Being a newbie at all this I don't understand what you mean, ill have to do more homework. I have attached a picture of my current voltages if thats any help, not sure which one to tinker with. Thanks :)

If your running 3200mhz mem Vccio 1.05 vccsa 1.1 + cpu standby 1.05 is usually enough.

If running 3600 mems io 1.1, sa 1.15 and standby 1.1 ussually enough.

The values auto is setting can run 4000mhz no issues.

How Hold House your loop? That seems a bitbwarm for stock volts

Not sure what you mean, but I have a cooler master cosmos se case with 2 x fans in front, 2 x fans at top by Radiator and 1 at the back. I don't know the temp in my house but its not very warm at all

Sorry swiftkey is playing up with the forums lately. Just wondering if your watercooling loop is old.

As everyone else has said, it's safe but seems high for the setup. Have you checked the thermal paste on the CPU to make sure it's been correctly applied? My CPU is old as ****, but it's overclocked by almost 2ghz and idles at 19 degrees on air and never goes beyond 46 when gaming.

my 7700k using auto OC to 4.8ghz idles at around 32 and highest I have seen it go is 60c using same magicool pump,el cheapo Chinese waterblock and 420mm rad with a 1070 in the loop too.
