more of a combined rant and bewildered ramble about the complete half arsed attitude some sites seem to have now when it comes to testing.
as we have seen since the new x299 stuff has launched a few scores for ryzen in cinebench where all over the shop. and iv assumed its due to them not retesting post 1.0.0.6 beta bios's, well after clicking on a youtube video for ncix about the new i9's they confirmed it mid video moaning that cpu-z changed its benchmark in may so rather than retesting they just sectioned them scores off and of course that would included ryzens. so proves tech sites unless stated (gamers nexus have updated scores and have stated so) are just using old scores.
really does baffle me though as if i was running a tech site/channel id want the most up to date info on it so it shows im being honest rather than this which from a few comes across as favouritism in how they test and present it let alone using old scores for any system, will these same sites come threadripper use the current scores they have for i9's ? or will they actually retest them on updated bios's as we know there will be updates.
im sure some on here will say its petty and being fanboyish but if i was amd id be asking some serious questions of a few sites about why they are presenting old and pointless scores as fact as it will no doubt impact peoples buying habits also if i was intel id be asking the same thing just so they dont get treated the same way come threadripper reviews.
it shouldn't be about fanboyism or brand loyalty when your job (and yes its a job and a lot of these guys make a nice living from it) to present reviews of things and only do a partial job.
rant over for now.......
