CPU undervolt doesn't appear to be working?

Hi,

When I initially got my laptop I seen a defined improvement with undervolt, a good 10 degrees drop, now my CPU is throttling and hitting the limits again, I have checked throttlestop and it is still letting my select undervolt but when I turn it on or off, I notice the actual voltage readings live are not changing and temp/core isn't as well.

Any idea what's going on?

You haven't said what CPU your laptop has but I'm guessing it's Intel. Undervolting allows a hacker to steal secrets about their chips so Intel released a vulnerability update which blocks the undervolt from working.

You could try ThrottleStop FIVR Disable and Lock Turbo Power Limits feature. There's a discussion about it.

Turns out it could be just the thermal paste getting a bit knackered, might need a repaste, however changing to static voltage for the core I lowered an additional -0.020 from -0.140 to -0.160 and it seems stable.
