CPU Upgrade advice needed

I have a A8nSli Premium and a AMD 3700 San Diego with a x1900xtx at the moment and i'm thinking of upgrading to a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+

I mainly play BF2 gamewise, am i looking at a big increase in FPS? Can i enable both cores for this game?

Are dual cores supported on the initial bios for this also or do i need a bios upgrade?

You won't notice any boost in FPS in BF2 as it's only a single threaded application

In fact it'll be a little slower as the X2 4200+ is effectively two 3500+ cores

You might need to update the BIOS but the A8N Sli Premium was one of the first boards to feature a shipping BIOS which supported dual cores

fps wont change but will be good for when games use dual core.

+some will tell you to go for the 3800, if your not overclocking then go for the 4200. tho i have my 4200 at 2.6, so really its up 2 how much you want to spend.
