CPU upgrade (cooling question)

Hello all! This christmas I'll be upgrading my 6 year old computer, and need a bit of advice. First off here is my current computer

AMD 1055T Processor,
Asus m4*something* motherboard.
16GB ram,
NVIDIA GTX460 GFX card.
750w PSU.

Now im sticking with AMD and am planning on keeping the PSU, RAM (upgraded to new sticks earlier this year), and the case. I'm planning to upgrade the graphics to a GTX 650 and get an AMD FX 9370 4.4ghz 8core, which of course means a new motherboard. I've already got a motherboard chosen (although not bought yet), the thing im getting stuck with now is the cooling. I've never assembled a processor before and dont want it screwing up.

However when i looked at the idea processor cooler, I'm confused, as it doesnt seem to have anything which would connect it to the motherboard or cpu. The fan im after is this one:

However i found a few more pictures of it, and the image clearly shows apparently nothing between the copper heat bars and the processor

Would it just screw on via those two hole things? What happens if i get a motherboard which doesn't have any way to connect that particular fan to it??

The PSU is still 750watts, i was planning to use the old one. The other question i forgot to mention is will there be a need to get a better PSU for the system with those particular upgrades. Apologies, its the GTX 660 that i will be getting, not the 650.

PSU is a win powerplus 750w psu model numberAD-E750AE-A5/A6.

Why should i not get the GTX 660? Is it prone to going wrong? I have had absolutely no prblem with my GTX460 It runs any game i have well and almost always on full graphical settings, if they were still making them, I would just buy another one.

After graphics card (already bought), I have up to £400 including the motherboard and processor and cooling.

Well, I did a bit of research on this, and we have got our graphics card (Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX660 2GB DDR5 PCI-E Graphics Card) from amazon, for just a bit less than the price of that Radeon, although looking at the passmark scores the radeon does get slightly better performance marks, though, however I'll probably stick with it now I've gotten it.

I note your suggesting a downgrade in performance with the actual CPU, perhaps i should have explained before, but this computer will not just be playing games. I do a lot of work with computer animations, physics simulations and the like in Blender, which takes full advantage of multiple core systems, unlike a lot of games! So I'll probably stick with that, given that the 9370 will effectively half my render times.

However your choices for motherboard and cooler look better than mine, So i will be going with them. Would i still be safe with a 650 watt power supply? or may i need to bump it up a bit?

I dont expect people to agree i have brilliant components, I have a budget. Its not a very big budget by any means, some people are lucky to have thousands to spend upgrading but i'll never be one of those people, so I have to choose from the best of the rest. why is a FX9370 a crap choice over a lower performance FX8320? The graphics card choice is almost exactly the same score-wise on passmark. Even if the 660 will not go quite as fast, so whats so bad about that choice?
