Cpu Upgrade from amd to intel

Hi getting ready for BF3 so thinking of upgrading a few bits i currently run:
AMD Phenom II X6 Six Core 1090T Black Edition 3.20GHz OC to 3.8
Asus Crosshair IV Formula AMD 890FX Motherboard

Just brought the following to go in my current system:
2x 120g ssd
16g ram
and thinking about i5 or i7 and decent motherboard
Will i get much benefit by upgrading to i5 or i7

Open to suggestions for CPU and Mobo

Purely for BF3? Then no, the game is extremely GPU dependant, so long as you have a Quad Core or above of some description, then you will be fine.

What GPU do you use?

Stick with what you have ATM. I would look at this article about the BF3 BETA:

A single GTX580 is used and the game was tested on high settings under DX11 with no AA.

Ty for the info looks like im gd to go All i need to do is get a decent headset as my medusa 5.1 is falling apart and maybe a new keyboard
