6950X is a lot of dough for a little performance gain are my thoughts, I'm no hardware expert though.

Would a 6950X drop into my current MSI X99A Xpower AC? Its on the latest BIOS version available for it.

Been keeping tabs on this forthcoming Intel 7*** series but apparently very underwhelming?

how much longer would a 5960X still be considered a high end CPU? Yep I know, it does all I need to and more, but its more a wants than need thing, recently bought a Titan X Pascal to replace my Titan X Maxwell and I never needed that that either but wanted one :)

Honest question.
 
Thanks for confirming what I suspected guys, its a bit disappointing CPU evolution has slowed down, but the plus side is with this CPU I don't have to or need to upgrade it for a while ... possibly another couple of years at least?
