As title, got 1/Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 WindForce 3x "GHz Edition" and thinking of going 2x sli with these in the future.
So need a mobo that will do the above, new cpu and ram.
Not bothered about colours, just what works best together.
Also would a SuperFlower Leadex Platinum 1000W be plenty for them gpu's.

cheers ant.

Cheers, would this be ok TeamGroup Vulcan ORANGE 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit ?
would i only need 8gb for gaming mainly.

Yeh was reading about it thre other day, seem a lot of board for the price.
Is the z87 route better than the x79 for gaming and a small overclock?

cheers

Cooler is noctua d14, but might try a different air cooler and leave the noctua on the old i7 950 as the other half is claiming the rig.
Was going for the leadex for rma ease more than anythimg else.
Don't fancy sending a heavy psu back to evga, if the worst happened.

I did have a go, but had a strange reboot thing going on using speedstep.
As soon as the cpu down clocked with in 5 mins it would just do a random restart no error or bsod.
Did some researh could have been a conflict between the sabertooth x58 and corsair ax750, but no answers on the net.

cheers.

I like the sounds of the x79 after reading your review Oldfart, but the trouble with x79 is i'll end up wanting to buy this Asus Rampage IV Extreme Black Edition ;D
But likin the ivy-e being cooler when oc'ed.

cheers.

Cheers for the advice guys, what a top forum this

I've just pulled the trigger on a super flower 1kw plat psu, to see if the i7 950 will clock better as i think its either a dodgy x58 sabertooth or the ax750 holding the cpu back.

So i got to thinking if i could get it to say 4 ghz or above, would it handle going giga gtx 780 ghz edidtion sli and a Asus PB278Q 27" Professional LED Multimedia Monitor - Black in stead of the the cpu, mobo and ram route.

cheers
