CPU upgrade help!

Hello guys I'm looking to upgrade my CPU from an amd phenom ii x2 555 to an amd phenom ii x6 1100t over Xmas (Santa is here!) my mobo is a gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-US2H 760g. I'm still learning what goes with what etc so just wondering if anyone can see any obvious clashes? Or perhaps recommend a better CPU for me? Has to be AM3 socket.. Thanks guys! Merry gaming....

Also my psu is only 500w should I look to upgrade that also?

Loving the help here guys, im about to try to unlock the other cores on my cpu now so wish me luck. Any idea if i can check if ill be able to unlock the phenom x4? Ive looked on the gigabyte website...no such luck. Could i just assume that if I can unlock the x2 successfully to a x4 i can unlock the x4 to a x6??!
