Hi ,
being short and tight on cash I recently bought the MIM2120 laptop by medion from Ebay for just over 50 quid

I wanted this for viewing RAW photos whilst away from my home pc, The standard spec of 1300ghz celeron (400 fsb 512k cache) 256mb ram was a little stretched but ok for these needs.
However. Its a great laptop and I wanted to run a few more photo programs so I set about a few upgrades. I stuck 1.5 gb ram in and bought a handfull different cpus from ebay , all no more than a few quid each.
So my question is ..... The 2120 uses the 910GML chipset which states max 400 fsb 1700ghz celeron
I was able to install a 1700ghz pentium M 2mb cache and 533 mhz FSB . Been using this for a day. installed lightroom 3 and copes ok! photoshop cs5 is also totally useable.
Has any one tried any faster chips than the one above ? Ive had no issues with heat and use CPU-Z and noticed that when theres no cpu demand the clock multiplier changes to x6 ( 800mhz) to save power and bumps up again! I also get a quick Pentium M Logo come up when i first switch the laptop on.
so if this can handle 533 fsb. that opens up a few more cpu's aswell as some x 2 core's . will the 780 work ? 2.26 2mb cache 533 mhz fsb. The more i can get out of this the better . The peformance is awesome as it is but still wondered what the max could be.
this is how it looks when a demand is needed for the cpu.
