CPU upgrade just for gaming?

I'd leave it as is, if there was a 3080 or 3080Ti it would be worth upgrading the CPU but the 3600 is fine for a 3070. Save the money for a 4000 series + cheap 5600x/5800x later in the year/next year.
 
Thanks again for the replies, it's always about weighing up the pros and cons, sell the 3600 now for about £120 and get a 5800x for about £280, or sell the 3600 next year for £80’ish and hopefully pick up a 5800x for £200'ish.

I think the 60fps limit on his TV is a big factor too, a CPU upgrade looks to be geared more towards higher FPS.
