hi im gonna b upgrading my computer 2 morrow, am gonna get a Asus P5K Premium/WiFi-AP Intel P35, Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit but was not sure about the cpu the 2 i am looking at are the e8200 or the e6850 which one will perform better. sounds like a dumb question but the e6850 runs faster than the e8200??

cheers

Depends if you plan on overclocking, If so might be better going for the E8200 as these will reach 4 Ghz on air, fsb on board being the limiting factor. Also the E8*** are 5-10% faster clock for clock than the E6***.

Would be my choice when spending this amount of money.

Should see you 3.4-3.6ghz on that mobo.

If you don’t upgrade very often I would go with easy’s recommendation.
If you do and only tend to keep your hardware for no longer than 6-8 months then I would suggest going for a Wolfdale. Your ram will be wasted on a quad core and your mb has killer fsb potential.
That’s pretty much the same situation I’m in, hence why I’m still lusting after a 4.5ghz Wolfdale :)
