Recently ive overcome my fears of overclocking my CPU (and enjoyed it) Ive realised my 3500+ is complete pants for it. Ive decided that im gonna get a new CPU (preferably compatible for my mobo) and clock the hell out of it. Here is a list of the CPUs my motherboard can support. I just want to know what the best value chip is that i can get the most performance out of, as my current 3500+ has only allowed me to go up from 2.2Ghz to 2.4Ghz ish. I was looking at the Opteron 165 as people seem to be getting a good increase out of them.
Or do you think its worth me just saving up my money and getting a Conroe or something? Im just wanting to get the most out of my PC as im getting a 8800GTS for xmas and would like to reduce bottlenecking as much as possible. Thanks everyone

Overall im pretty happy learnt how to overclock (maybe not as much as i would have liked) which is something ive always wanted to know how to do. Got an extra 100 points on Mark06 aswell! yey for me!
