Hi,

Currently running the spec in my sig.

Would upgrading to one of the AMD AM2 Quad Cores see a significant / worthwhile performance increase?

Note, it would be at stock as my mainboard has no OC options whatsoever.

It has no options whatsoever, not even multiplier changing ability.

I didn't choose that CPU when i had the board in my sig, i did have an ASUS M2N.

Basically, i didn't want to risk upgrading my cpu, cpu fan, ram and graphics card seeing as though i'd not done it before. For that reason i got a friend who works with computers to input all the parts i'd bought beforehand at a LAN party in November.

Unfortunately, my 8800GT gave error noises in my ASUS M2V and i couldn't get a boot, so the guy drove to his work and got me this cheap one as it was going spare.

I just wanted my card to work, and didn't have £100 to splash on a MB at the event
( there was no way i could have swapped out the MB at home so it had to be that weekend ).

In my old board, i used multiplier as 15x for a day, and was stable on 3Ghz with no problems.

The board i have now wont allow me to do this :)
