Looking at upgrading my C2D 2.4Ghz to the:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 "LGA775 Conroe" 3.00GHz (1333FSB) - Retail

I have the following motherboard:
Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Does anyone know if I'll have any problems running the 3Ghz chip on that board?

Thanks :)

Those two will work together fine.

If you already have a C2D though, then I can't see the need for forking out £185 for that processor. You might want to hold back until January when new 45nm Penryn quads come out and get one of them for probably the same money.

Place current C2D on 400FSB, drop multi to 8x, give it a tiny nudge in volts.

Voila. 3.2Ghz Core2 for free.
