Thanks for the replyFor the most part no, I suspect you wouldn't.
My reasoning is that if you're playing a game that desperately needs/wants more than 4 cores, the 1660 Super and perhaps even your RAM is going to be a bottleneck too.
That said, if the upgrade is cheap, there's no harm in it and it will help you outside of gaming and the framerate consistency in some games.
I always thought the 11600K is more than 95 watt CPU. Would my Ram be compatible with that CPU?Your gpu uses approx 125 watts so with a 95 watt cpu your 450 should be fine as long as your not overclocking either .
Yes only game. Corsair VS 450Which model is it?
Do you only game?
I might invest in a new PSU first, any suggestions? It should be. 250 watt plus any othe rfans/drives etc in your psu should only be about 300 watts but that psu is a low quality one TBH.
Thanks for the advice. Would having more cores on the 10400f help with game performance?I wouldn't bother and save the money for a fresh overhaul down the line. If you find a cheap, I mean very cheap 11600 then ok. If you need cores then a 10400f may be a more cost effective solution.
2666 memory runs at 1.2v. if you set it too 1.35v you can get 3000 and maybe a more out of it. Not sure it make a huge difference on this platform.
Just realised this has been said previously....
Thanks again for your help. I might just keep my Ram for another 12 months then upgrade. The 11400f seems the best bang for buck. What will game performance be like going from 10100f?Intel® Core™ i5-11400F Processor (12M Cache, up to 4.40 GHz) - Product Specifications | Intel
Intel® Core™ i5-11400F Processor (12M Cache, up to 4.40 GHz) quick reference with specifications, features, and technologies.www.intel.com
It will be fine although you could try running it faster as the 11400f supports 3200 speed ram although i had a quick look at reviews and faster ram doesnt seem to make a big difference overall. Ram is cheap though:

I would do as Mickyflinn said and check first to make sure your motherboard can support the cpu before spending any money. Should only need a bios update but you have to do this first before trying to fit the new cpu.
I will check it out
ASUS Prime B460 plusTell us what motherboard you have.
I think I’m doing it, just down loaded the Bios update from the ASUS website and the EZ update softwareASUS Prime B460 plus
I noticed on the websiteLooks like your motherboard doesn't support 11th gen cpu
I will check the model number. I’ve updated the Bios, it was straight forwardHmm. 10505 would be better value, I think.
By the way, can you share the exact model name/number of your board from CPU-Z? Some of the B460 boards actually use H470, which means they do support 11th gen.
