CPU usage and RAM usage going nuts (vista 64)

I have done a fresh install a couple of days ago. And all have been going fine.

About an hour or so ago, my CPU was sitting about 53% and about 6 gig was being used.

Task manager under processes was not showing anything using that amount.

Any one have any clues.

Neither had I, until I moved to a new rig running Vista x64. Usually closing and re-opening Steam sorts it.

Its gona back to normal now. Ran a virus check to make sure NOD says Im free.

I have been running vista 64 since launch and never had this.

But I will remember it if it happens again.

i had this happen once before was itunes.. it said t was using 100MB ram but when i closed it 99% ram usage went to 10% 5.8GB usage to 1.3GB

I had to do a fresh install of vista due to it breaking.

I have steam installed but not loaded, and windows has gone nuts again.

Now here is a strange one. When my pc goes nuts, my wifes lappy loses net connection.

Im wired to the router she is wireless.

I never had any problems before I swapped from my abit IP35 Pro.

Could the LAN cause this. (may try my usb wireless to see if it is)

What version of NOD are you running? V4 has issues like this.

v4 will get v3 as that is what I was running with the abit.
