Iv been doing some research and have been wondering.
Is there a need for a pressure plate in the cpu waterblock ???
If there is which one is best overall??
I currently watercool my gpu only and ever since i took the cpu block out the flow rate has increased massively!
I took apart my cpu block today and found the pressure plate was clogged with bits of dried coolant.
What exactly does the pressure plate do to help cooling?
It seems to me like it just causes uneccesary pressure and slows the flow rate dramatically.
To give an example with the pressure plate and cpu block in i have to have my dual pumps on full for the water flow to actually make a splash in the resevoir. Whereas with the cpu block out i can put the pumps on the lowest setting and even then the flow is greater.
So before i go ahead and redo my watercooling setup with the cpu block in without the pressure plate, can someone give me some insight as to if this is a good idea or not ??
