Hi,

Sorry for starting yet another post asking a question (feels like I ask more questions than I answer).

Would swapping an XSPC Delta V3 cpu block for an AMD EK-Supreme LTX (Nickel) block be worth £30 or would I not see much gain from it?

I'm going to be altering my WC loop so trying to make all my changes in one go rather than having to keep draining the loop.

I'm swapping out a 120mm rad for a 240mm and changing graphics cards and also considering swapping my XSPC X20 750 for a Swiftech MCP35X. All to try to improve temps (and get a better graphics card). So wondering if I should change CPU blocks while I'm at it.

Thanks.

According to this:

the Delta V3 was the second worst for cooling out of 22 blocks though you're only talking about 5 degrees from first to last.

Looks like pretty much anything would be an improvement of some sort.

Here's the chart:

And that is why I bought the RASA :)

Annoyingly I bought an XSPC kit that came with the Delta V3 shortly before they replaced it with the RASA :(

Thanks for the graph Surveyor.

£30 - EK-Supreme LTX
£40 - HeatKiller Rev 3.0
£49 - XSPC RASA

The HeatKiller 3.0 does seem like the best value there, £9 for 0.2C improvement doesn't seem worth it. But I guess the question is how much better is the EK-Supreme LTX than the LT version in the graph.

The poor performance of the Delta V3 would explain why my Phenom II X6 idles in the mid 30C's and gets close to 50C's under Prime 95. If I could knock close to 5C off those values then it'd be nice.

I have a heatkiller 3.0 going soon, will be on the MM. It's a great block but i got sucked into the world of nickel :p

those temps are not bad i take it your running as quiet as possible.

LTX should perform near identicallu to the LT, it just has lower manufacturing costs apparently. It has the same base as the HF but the injector is different.

I have the LT. Decided that there is so little in terms the performance delta that I couldn't justify the extra £20.
