CPU: Which is better ?

Hey, I've got to replace a CPU of mine and was wondering which one is a better CPU to buy ?? An AMD phenom 2 tri core 2.80ghz or a amd phenom 2 dual core 3.20ghz ?? And if someone could explain why that would be great (I'm trying to boost my knowledge a little ha ha)

Well I'm not all that knowledgeable myself, but I would say the tri core for the fact that is has more cores and probably a higher cache as well lol, which allows more efficient multi-tasking.

Tri core is technically "better" as the extra core more than makes up for the slower clock speed.

I would get the try core to, aren't the Phenom tri cores EOL though?

EOL=End Of Life meaning they will no longer be produced, I dont see why that would stop you buying one.
