Hi,Im now so please be gentle :)
I system is..
AMD 64 3500
2 gig of ram
Geforce 6200
View Sonic 22"
250HDD

ANd was wondering if my CPU would be ok to use with the 8800 gts?
Or would that cpu just slow it down?

Thanks for your help :)

running at max resolution for that screen it should be ok...but it will definitely be CPU limited.

Swapping the CPU out for a dual core and OCing a bit will help a lot....or at least overclocking your current 3500 to 2.6+

Also make sure your power supply is capable of handling the card and the case has adequate space and airflow.

A 7900 GS / X1950 Pro would not be bottlenecked much but a 8800 xxx will be yes. You'll still get decent performance out of it but ideally you need something along the lines of an overclocked C2D E6300/6400 or 6600/6700 etc.

Thanks for replying

I will be getting a Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular for the PSU
But for a Dual core,I was hoping to stick with AMD.
Which would be the best AMD dual Core for the 8800?

That's a great PSU.

Do you have a socket 939 setup?

If so I suggest either an opty 165 or a 4400x2 and overclocking it.

actually if you have DDR2 already then you can pick up a DS3 motherboard and e4300 cpu for pretty cheap...clock it to 2.8 - 3+ghz and it will perform better than any AMD you can buy (even any overclocked amd)

Well people say how good Core 2 DUO E6600 is..
So would a E6600 work well with a 8800 gts if the E6600 was not overclocked?

yes...but overclocking will get you the best bang for your buck. The e4300 is 100 quid...if you're not looking to OC then yeah the e6600 is pretty good.

trouble is,I have never overclocked a CPU before,Im scared that i might blow it up lol.So i have never tryed
I was gonna buy a Connect3D ATI Radeon X1950 Pro instead of a 8800gts.
Then at least i would not have to change my PSU
