Cpu wont multiply

i am using an asrock 939a8x-m and an a64 3700. when i change the multi to 12 in setup then hit save and exit it stays at 11 after it restarts. why is this?????

The multi is locked on all a64's bar a few special ones and the FX range

you cannot change the multi on most modern chips, you have to increase the fsb/htt to overclock them.

good luck with the htt overclocking, someone correct me if im wrong but i think you can lower the multi, but thats not of much use to most people.

Tis good for people who want an insanely high htt up into the 300's though but it wouldnt be stable at the standard multi
