Hi all, Ive just upgraded my motherboard to an Abit IP35 Pro.
Been testing various overclocks and one thing that has been concerning me is the readings in CPU-Z for my CPU Volts, currently my bios is set to 1.3705 but CPU-Z is showing the volts as 1.475 while running prime??

I know about vdroop etc, but this is odd, im gaining volts from somewere and this is pushing up my temps, anyone got any ideas as to why?

According to Abit Guru, my volts are only 1.30??

Power supply is a Hyper type R 580.
CPU Q6600 @3.2
2x 1gb OCZ SLI 1066 ram
2x sata hdd's
8800 GTS 512
6600 gts 320
Soundblaster Live Platinum
CD-rw
DVD-RW

On my old (MSI P35 Neo2) mobo, and current mobo, my old E2180 would always show less volts under load in CPU-Z. When I installed the Q6600 however, under load the volts increase in CPU-Z. Not as much as yours though.

Its the strangest thing, I have tried setting the bios volts from 1.325v to 1.405v, but cpu-z Always shows 1.4+v ???

Abit guru on the other hand shows 1.325v as 1.3v and 1.405v as 1.38v.

Which do i trust?

In saying that, the only difference in temp between 1.32v and 1.4v is about 3-4 degrees.
Cooler is an Artic Freezer.

CPU-Z is not always right. Abit guru is probably correct....best way is to measure with a DMM though

Nevermind, looks like core reads too high and guru reads too low.
I set the bios to beep if my cpu temp hit 75, well it beeped and core was showing 77 while guru showed 67 LOL
At least Core temp was close.
