CPU-Z lying about dual channel?

Hi

Ive got 2 x 512MB and I added 2 x 256 making 1.5GB of RAM and CPU-Z still says its running dual channel - is this possible?

usally your boot up BIOS screen tells you if Dual channel is running

yes its possible. all you've done is add a stick of 256mb to each channel

yeah theyre both dual channel kits from geil.

i'll try and see the bios screen next time i reboot but usually it goes past it too quick before my screen turns on.

It's not the RAM sticks themselves that are dual channel, that's marketing

Perfectly possible, i even had dual channel on 1.5 gig with 1x1 gig and 1x 512, and both post screen and cpu-z were saying dual channel...
