I've got 2 x 2GB sticks of OCZ Gold RAM in that should be ran at 5-5-5-18, so I've set up those ratings in the bios of my Asus M3A78 Pro but CPU-Z is reporting 5-5-5-16, not 18.

Is this a problem or is it normal?

Thanks.

Updated BIOS and it's now showing 5-5-5-18 with tRC of 24

5-5-5-16 is better then the 5-5-5-18.

your bios probably knows your ram is underclocked so changes settings to give it better latency.

my ram is 5-5-5-15 but when i do 5-5-5-12 its better , latency better and bandwidth is increases a little

With regards to the trc rating, it should be 23 (5 + 18) but it's being reported at 24. For the sake of 1 difference, is it worth adjusting the settings to get it at 23?

I've had this memory a while but only discovered when I was in BIOS changing things that it was all set to auto, guess I'd just forgotten about it heh.

tbh, your not going to notice any real world difference in this sort of timing difference (15 vs 18, 23 vs 24) so if its working ok - dont worry about it, atall.
tbh, i doubt it would even make more than 100 pts in 3dmark 2K1 ;)

Didn't think it'd make all that difference, especially as I only really set out to change the timings from 6 to 5, and even then not expecting a noticeable difference.
